Yes my wife and I are Pug people. I am getting her this sad-adorable delight as our other coasters are starting to fray. These coasters are about a square 2.5". They won't hold big cups or other odd beverage containers with large bases so their usefulness is limited to only standard size glasses and mugs. Our previous coasters were super absorbant and held their water (we often drink cold beverages that tend to sweat the glasses) really well. In looking at the absorbant materials I have noticed that these new coasters look more porous and thus less dense and less likely to hold up against as much sweating from a glass but I have not tried this out practically yet.Oh. And for any interested in ordering these please check out the price difference between ordering the soft coasters set of 4 and 8. I ordered the set of 8 because it was, for some reason, actually cheaper than the set of four! That's good. I like getting a value!
